Unlike traditional testing device with 2 columns on each side of the testing sample, the new PROXIMA relocates this mechanism behind the testing sample. Reducing the number of ball screws allows to open completely one side of the sample. As a result, the phosphor screen of the EBSD detector can achieve SSD down to 12 mm.

✔ PROXIMA remains flat on the SEM, only the clamps are tilted at 70°

✔ Smaller Working distance: WD down to 12mm,
Smaller Sample to screen distance: SSD down to 18mm.

All clamps (tension, compression, 3 & 4 pt bending, biaxial, Arcan shear) are EBSD compatible!
